Potholders

Potholders are how I got into Tunisian Crochet.  Most commonly known as the "afghan stitch", I found it easy to knock out a potholder in a couple of hours.  My potholders are made using the basic afghan stitch and then 2 panels are crocheted together.  Sometimes I make a hanging loop with a few simple stitches or I crochet around a keychain or wooden circle.

I learned very quickly how to change colors and have then since incorporated many designs into the actual fabric instead of cross stitching on the top.  All of my potholders are made with 100% cotton and are functional in the kitchen.  Many potholders have been in our family for 20 years or more.  They can be washed and dried as with any "towel", although they do tend to pick up fuzz from towels.  They are double thick and are made large enough for a man's hands.  So no excuses for the hubby not to help in the kitchen.
